I remember few years ago, I was able to hijack a fast food chain operating on an FRS channel (462 Mhz). they are using a simplex repeater (a recording device which retransmit the whole recorded message). Now, that was real fun!
I know there are wideband frequency mods for CB’s. A friend of mine has been using a modded Cobra 148 GTL as a channelized 40 meter rig. But a hack to convert 27 Mhz to 40 Mhz? I’m not sure.
