After approximately a year of nothing, we've finally released a new issue of Phoneloser Monthly. Only we've renamed this issue to 2.600 KHz - The Hacker Occasionally. Inside you'll find exciting things like a dot-to-dot game, a matching game, a phone number list, a few PLA updates, an article on recording your phone calls (don't read it for free, pay for this condensed version instead!) and a few other misc. things. If you already have a subscription, yours will be in the mail on Monday. Even though this issue was just released, we're calling it the Winter 2003 issue to give the illusion that we put out 3 issues last year. Sneaky, eh?

About 10 years ago, RBCP was working the graveyard shift at an Oregon 7-Eleven. He used his laptop computer (bought with a 7-Eleven customer's stolen credit card number) to compile a list of things to do to piss off 7-Eleven employees. It was named 7ELEVEN.TXT and uploaded to BBSes all over the country, including the infamous Ripco BBS in Chicago, IL. Less than a year later it was turned into PLA Issue #8. Tonight I cleaned up the issue, changed the format a little, added some pretty graphics, corrected some spelling and removed a few things. You can even add your own ideas to the list now. PLA has recently revamped their Media CDs with lots of old material that has never been heard before because it sucks. There are now 469 prank phone calls, 655 megs of video, text files, pictures and more. Own it all on 2 CDR discs for just $5.00!

Men like me strive to have big phone bills to make up for other certain inadequacies in their life. I've decided to showcase my big unpaid phone bill collection and invite others to submit pictures of their own.

In 1996 JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in her home. In 1997 the Boulder News Forum opened a discussion room dedicated to the investigation of the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. A bunch of PLAers started causing hell on these forums which lasted for about 2 years. They posted all kinds of new theories involving red boxes and Erik Bloodaxe tried to cash in by selling JonBenet t-shirts. It's a lot of reading, but if you have the time it's some good stuff. Dust off your old red box because we've designed a list of ideas for completely new & improved uses for it. Since long distance coin calls are apparently being phased out, this should be a very useful page for vetran red boxers.

Phone mobbing is organizing groups of people to call into a specific number (or group of numbers) all at once. Such as banks of pay phones, radio call-in shows, etc. There's no point to it really, it's just to see the reaction of the target. This is our collection of phone mobbing projects. So far there is just one but we hope to have many more. This activity was inspired by this story.

Judas Iscariot & Murd0c have organized a panel for this summer's HOPE conference in New York. If you're attending HOPE, be sure to attend the PLA Panel as they give a history lesson on 10 years of PLA, among other fun things.

Also RTF and Murd0c are organizing the first annual OMG HAX 2K4 Con in Manhattan. It will be held on Monday, July 12th, 2004 which is conveniently the day after HOPE. Recently a popular website linked to a few of our pages, including the old Dino Allsman PLA issue. This motivated me to spice up the Dino issue a bit by changing the layout, adding some graphics, fixing my bad grammer/spelling and adding quite a few updates to the page. I also put the old Dino sound clips back up, which I took down at the end of 2000 when it looked like Dino was going to hunt me down and either kill me or sue me. I ended up talking to a good friend of mine about Dino and it turns out that she knew Dino's wife and had a little bit of information on Dino for me. So that's included on the page as well. So take a look, there's lots of good stuff on our Dino page now!
