Chapter 1 – Leaving: My life abruptly changed the night I let my best friend die in a gruesome phone phreaking accident. A change for the better or the worse, it was hard to say, but there’s no doubt that it was abrupt. The accident wasn’t exactly my fault but I kind of assumed that the whole thing would be blamed on me since I was there and did nothing about it. So I panicked and I ran away. Chapter 2 – Jobless: What little money I had brought with me quickly began to drain away. My cost of living wasn’t very much. I paid $3.00 every couple days to a campground to use their showers and laundry room. I survived mostly on junk food which wasn’t too expensive. And since the island wasn’t too big, I did a lot of walking around instead of driving my car all day so I didn’t waste too much on gas. But with less than $100 left, it wouldn’t take me too long to start going hungry. (click here to read more…)
