For those who haven’t actually heard of the Boulder News Forum, it’s a service
provided by the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colorado and is intended to talk
current events. For the past 8 months now, the main “current event” has been
investigation into the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the 5-year-old beauty
queen who was murdered in her home.
Months after the discussion was started, the forum was invaded by a group
referring to themselves as the PLA - or the Phone Losers of America who posted
alot of nonsense, attacked others’ opinions, pretended to be other regular
posters by using their names and generally made the forum hell.
This newsletter/zine/publication will attempt to archive most of the
harassment endured over the past six months and maybe even shed some light
as to why the Ramsey Forum was chosen as their playground. We’ll start with
an article taken from the Phone Losers of America zine, written by Logic Box
back when the whole thing started.
Most of you have probably heard about the six-year-old child beauty queen
JonBenet Ramsey who was molested and murdered recently in Colorado (and if
you haven’t, well then you’re retarded, ok?). While searching the World Wide
Web one day, we stumbled upon a WWW message board created by Boulder News
in Colorado which was intended as a means of communication for those who were
interested in the JonBenet Ramsey case. Now, we all felt really bad for that
girl when we heard she had been murdered, and in no way did we mean any
disrespect toward JonBenet Ramsey herself, but we just thought it would be
kind of fun to trash their forum. I think me, Tannest, RBCP, and Colleen Card
are mostly responsible for it, along with several #rock idiots.
We started off just arguing against anything and everything that people
posted to the forum, and it was funny to read all their half-witted replies
to our rants (the forum is mostly dominated by a bunch of 80-year-old women
who have no computer experience whatsoever). Later on, we thought it would be
fun to start impersonating people on the forum and posting as them, and we
managed to drive several regulars off the forum this way.
Later on, we told RBCP about it and he thought it was pretty funny too, so
him and Colleen started posting on it. He used the name ErikB and posted all
kinds of LOD/MOD war t-shirt ads on it, then an ad for the new JonBenet Ramsey
murder t-shirts which really riled up a few folks. By this time the forum was
just completely fucked, but we were having too much fun to stop. Tannest
decided to search the web for lots of odd and perverted things, and started
posting all kinds of weird shit to the forum.
Desperate to get the hell away from us, the forum regulars decided to turn to
IRC for their Ramsey-talk, figuring that they could just “kick the hackers
off.” This proved to be rather difficult for them, as they experienced
constant harassment from all the wonderful #rock regulars. Thanks to me, they
now get extremely paranoid when anyone with a hostmask located in Santa
Clara, CA enters the channel. Fucking morons.
Through all of this, one especially crazed forum regular who calls herself
Teacher has refused to be driven away from the board. In spite of this, she
has been driven insane by our mad posting frenzies and nonstop attacks
against her. While we haven’t been able to track her down, we have gathered
that her first name is Jayne and that she is a librarian. We’ve also
completely ruined her previously good reputation on the forum by constantly
impersonating her and using her handle to slander the rest of the morons who
post there.
Recently, RBCP received e-mail from a Ramsey forum regular who was curious
just as to what the hell the PLA is and why they have been doing to this
message board (we posted lots of PLA advertisements and other strange
things). The e-mail read:
“I find it hard to believe this person is PLA, they lack your obvious comedic
brilliance. I suppose they are just PLA wannabes. Sorry if I intruded on your
day with a foolish question but you were the first one listed on the e-mail
page.” Regards, Hominid hominid@earthlink.net
While it is true that a lot of the posts some of us made were utterly stupid
and lacked creativity, much thought was put into several of the posts. This
letter and its writer annoyed RBCP, so he sent the following reply:
“Hahaha, actually I’m one of the people intruding on the Ramsey board. You
might remember me as erikb, the t-shirt salesman. No offense intended but we
had a lot of fun stirring up shit there. I haven’t posted anything in about
three weeks now but I’m sure that others are still at it. If you want to yell
at them, go into irc.dal.net’s #rock.” See ya, RBCP bac@bright.net
Soon after this reply was sent, a post appeared on the forum that read “I’m
so glad to hear that Peak.org is pulling the plug on Mike Ockurts.” Mike
Ockurts is the fake name that RBCP used for his account at Peak. This freaked
Colleen out and annoyed RBCP even more, so he posted the following snide
message to the forum:
“Is this what you consider to be detective work? Don’t jump the gun just to
be the first, put some effort into it and you can really find out who I am.
It’s not that hard, I’m not exactly ‘not listed.’ But the question is, what
do you suppose you can do once you find me? Have fun!”
They haven’t made anymore attempts to try to stop us yet, other than a couple
of stupid and incredibly inaccurate tries to guess RBCP’s real name. We don’t
post to the forum as much as we used to, but there really isn’t a need to
since it’s been invaded by a zillion other people just like us. They still
get freaked out when I come to their channel and sit for hours without saying
anything, and I usually get kickbanned on sight because my hostmask contains
the words “Santa Clara.”
That about wraps up our antics on the Ramsey forum so far. The forum is
located at http://www.bouldernews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?Ramsey if you want to
check out the latest assortment of insane postings. Their IRC channel,
#cybersleuths, can be found on the NewNet IRC network (irc.aohell.org,
irc.tscnet.com, or irc.eskimo.com). Go there and tell Jameson that the PLA
says hi. Let us know if you experience anything strange or interesting with
these weird people.
But that was far from the end. Logic’s article was written way back in April
and so much has happened since then. After awhile the fun was dying down in
the forum, so we thought it’d be fun to spark some new interest in PLA and
see what would happen if they posted the URL to PLA’s webpage and mention
that “they even have their own web board we could trash!!”
The response ended up rather large, with people threatening us with lawsuits
and threatening to come to Ohio to rip off RBCP’s arms and threatening to…
well, just read for yourself and see. The format of the posts is a little
screwed up because the editors here at Peachey Inc. are too lazy to fix them.

PLA is Phone Losers of America. They are a group of
people who have figured out how to steal phone service
- specificly long distance, for free. I don't know if
they are into the cell-phone stuff or not.
They are supposedly involved in one man's theory of
this murder - college kids, JAR and his friends - I
won't pretend to see any sense in the connection he
made. I usually scroll by.
That's the PLA in a nutshell. Maybe someone else will
give you a better explanation. This is all I got from
following the case for 7 months.

I love how you people have turned the craziest media
hype of a childs death into a PLA discussion. It just
goes to show that even an exploited child's demise
is not safe from the jurisdiction of the PLA. If
Jon-Benet were around right now, she'd have her

This goes back a long time - when a theory involving
the PLA came into play.
No one here took it serious, but the initials keep
coming up - over and over.

[Okay, this is where it gets good. One day a few of the PLAers
got together on IRC as usual and designed a very professional
looking web page that was a total parody of the Ramsey forum,
uploaded it to a Tripod account and posted it on the Ramsey
forum several times. The page contained general information
about the Ramsey forum, a form that posted annoying messages
directly to the real Forum and personal information on one of
the long-time posters - Jameson. This especially seemed to anger
one old lady who decided to call herself 31373. ]

I really appologize for all of the garbage posts to and
from the PLA. I’ve just had about enough harrassment
from them and it *will* stop. I was hacking vax boxes
before they were born, and they need to be taught a
lesson. WE CAN FIGHT BACK!!!
I also know what they can do. And I know WHAT WE CAN
DO! Don’t take it! Email every admin at every ISP they
are on. Complain, and have them kicked off. Their ISP’s
get sick of hearing all of the complaints from these
jerks on dalnet.
I will stop when I see a post from Eric, RBCP, Logic
Box, Tannest, or Colleen, or all of the above,
appologizing for disrupting the BNF, and promising not
to ever come here again.
They can stop it if they want. The ball is in their
court. If they come back with more harrassment, we

I am told that one of our regular BNF posters has
talked to a Jason at Tripod.com and he is looking at
the ~forumterror page now. Anyone who has been
slandered and stalked by this group, please call Jason
at 413-458-2265 and explain why we want to know who
created the page.
Once the page has been removed, prosecution can begin.
I have most of the information you will need to give to
your attorney. Jason has said that Tripod will
cooperate with any legal issues brought about by this
website and it’s creators, the PLA.

information when doing this. Any correspondence I have
had with them has been through an anonymous remailer.

Since tripod.com had to bring the ~forumterror page
down, and the PLA did not bring it down volunarily,
plans to charge Alex Carbon, RBCP with stalking,
harrassment, slander, and felony phone tampering, are
going ahead as scheduled.
If he does have any outstanding warrants, this will
bring them to light. This will probably be the last
straw for the PLA, who have been terrorizing innocent
people on the internet for 2 years. If it is not the
last straw for the PLA, it certainly will be for Eric.
His followers will have to go on without him.

I think it’s apparent by now that our rogue poster was

RBCP has been forced to remove the forumterror page
again. It will reappear somewhere else eventually. He
created it to make fun of the good people he is
terrorizing right now.
I wish you people could understand what the PLA does,
and that RBCP created it to harm good people so he can
have fun. He thinks it’s funny to harrass and belittle
helpless people. He sells the audio tapes of the
harrassing phone calls he makes. These are only the
legal calls he makes. He wouldn’t dare tape the illegal
ones. But he tells everyone how he did it, and who he
did it to. He keeps a running log of the people he
terrorizes and up until a few weeks ago, published an
online magazine about his exploits. His followers are
mostly young people who think he is cool. They are
basicly your average low self asteemed teen who latches
onto someone older who they think is “cool”.
RBCP is posting here using my and other people’s names,
so don’t be fooled. He is getting nervous. I know for a
fact he has heard from the admins at KRACKED.COM and
BRIGHT.NET. Bright.net forced him to remove the
forumterror page again, but he will find somewhere else
to put it so that his friends can laugh and have fun at
our expense.
He will continue to harrass this forum until he is
brought down for good. This is the last posting from
me. I am taking the fight to email since RBCP has
succeded in getting some forum regulars to complain
about my fight against him.
This is the last piece of info you will get from me
other than one final post telling you when RBCP has
been stopped. He will probably continue to post as me
and others, but I won’t be here to read it. I will not

Was the IP address removed due to legal implications?
Maybe the action was not so noble.
We have a right to post opinions anonymously. The world
is just too sick today for anyone to reveal their true
identity. It is called protect yourself.
Let us get back to a vigil for justice for JonBenet.
She did not deserve to die. She cannot speak for
herself. If her family will not seek true justice, then
we, her family of strangers, will take up the crusade
for justice for JonBenet an innocent.
May the crusade grow to include justice for all other
abused and murdered children who suffer every day in
this country of America.

The autopsy will be released at 9:00 MDT Wednesday, 6
parts are missing including position of the body when
‘discovered’.
Don’t know what happened with the IP’s - wonder if that
was part of the hackers plan or BN doing it? I copied
down some of the nutsoes ones:)
Anyway, THANK YOU Boulder News if you can get this
Forum back to normal, or at least keep the threads from
being trashed.

Long-time lurker says thanks also. I had almost given
up the forum. What is the deal now? Do we leave our
true e-mail addresses or what? I would be happy to do
so if it is safe now? So relieved to see Mrs Brady in

Thank you Boulder News and all the folks behind the
scenes that have worked so hard (and patiently) to
restore this forum! I agree with the poster above who
said that this is the best formatted forum around
dealing with the JonBenet Ramsey case. Great Job!
